Good roles do not wait.

Several of the openings below have closing dates in November and early December. Others are contract roles where the first few applicants tend to get the attention. If one fits, apply this week instead of bookmarking it.

We also looked for roles that are open beyond the usual US and Europe lists. Four of the five below are open anywhere in the world or across APAC.

Let's dive in 👇

SKILL BOOSTER

A resume says what you did. A portfolio shows it.

For design, writing, development, and many other remote roles, a portfolio often decides whether you get an interview. You do not need a big one. You need a clear one.

1. Pick three to five pieces, not twenty Hiring managers skim. Choose the work that best matches the roles you want, and cut the rest. Quality and relevance beat volume.

2. Show the problem before the result For each piece, write two or three sentences: what the problem was, what you did, and what changed. A finished design or project with no context is hard to judge.

3. Include one piece of process Add a sketch, a draft, or a before and after. Remote teams hire people they can trust to work alone, and visible process builds that trust.

4. Match the format to the role A designer needs images that load fast. A developer needs a live link and a clean readme. A writer needs clips that are easy to read. Put the format your reader expects first.

5. Make it one link Put everything on one page or one folder. A recruiter who has to hunt will not hunt. Put the link at the top of your resume and your application.

6. Customize the first piece Reorder your work so the most relevant item for this specific job sits first. It takes five minutes and changes how the whole portfolio reads.

❝

A portfolio is proof. Make it easy to find, quick to read, and relevant to the job.

TOOLBOX

Carrd 🌐 → Builds simple one-page sites quickly, with a free tier and a low-cost paid plan for a custom domain. A clean way to put your portfolio at one memorable link.

Behance 🎨 → Free portfolio platform where designers, illustrators, and creatives publish case studies and get discovered by recruiters. Good if your work is visual.

Squoosh 🗜️ → Free browser tool from Google that shrinks image files without visible quality loss. Keeps your portfolio pages fast on slow connections.

Coolors 🎯 → Generates color palettes in seconds and checks how they look together. Useful for keeping portfolio pages and project work visually consistent.

❝

💡 Pro Tip

Open your portfolio link on your phone before you send it. Many recruiters check it there first, and a broken layout or slow image is easy to fix in two minutes.
