Senior roles don’t care about your title. They care about whether you can own big responsibilities without needing someone to guide you.
Here’s the easy way to prove that.
1. Show real results
Instead of listing tasks, show what changed because of your work.
Bad: Handled payroll
Good: Managed payroll for 6+ countries and reduced close time by 4 days
Simple rule: If there’s no result, it’s not senior.
2. Show you improved systems
Senior people don’t just “use tools” — they fix broken processes, set up new workflows, or make things run faster.
Examples:
Improved a payroll process
Built a marketing workflow that cut turnaround time
Set up CI/CD
Introduced a new tool that saved time
If you improved something, say it clearly.
3. Show you work well across teams
